Fire Destroys Home on Lower Bethany Road

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a fire call this morning, shortly after 4:30, at 776 Lower Bethany Road located between Ball Ground and Canton.

Cherokee County 911 received a call from a passer-by reporting flames and smoke coming from the structure. Truck 21 was the first on scene and reported flames showing from the ranch style house. Firefighters entered the home to do a primary search for possible occupants inside the home. However, according to Cherokee County Fire Investigator, Cheri Collett, the house had not been occupied in approximately two months.

The majority of the home was destroyed by the fire and no injuries were reported. Both lanes of Lower Bethany Road were shut down until the operation was complete. The cause of the fire continues to be investigated by Cherokee County Fire Investigators.
