Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, rescued a little boy who was in a compromising situation at a local Target store last Friday.
While checking out, Chief Prather noticed a child and his mother struggling with a shopping cart. The mother, Maggie Haradon of Woodstock, had just checked out from shopping. Haradon’s son, Kyler Shirley, was riding in the bottom of the cart and unfortunately his knee slipped through an opening in the bottom and he could not get out.
“Upon noticing me standing there and being relieved, mom sought my assistance to remove child. With some coordinated cooperation and some Vaseline, young Kyler was set free,” stated Prather. Both Kyler and his mother were relieved and thanked Chief Prather for his assistance. Kyler gave the Chief a thumbs up for rescuing him from the shopping cart.
