The event is presented each year by the Cherokee County Parks and Recreation Association and it allows families to meet some of their hometown heroes.”

The fire department had lots of representation at the event this year including Engine 20, Boat 20, Engine 21, Truck 21, Haz-Mat 21, Engine 12, Technical Rescue 12, Search and Rescue Team, Squad 5, Battalion 2, Car 6, Safe Kids and Fire Education.

According to Battalion Chief, Kevin Lanier, “We had a good turnout with a steady stream of kids all day. It was a great day to see people out and about.”

The event is a way for the community to come and meet firefighters and look at their vehicles and equipment in a fun and educational environment. Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services is always proud to be a part of this wonderful event.
