Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire yesterday afternoon, at approximately 3:45, at 2240 Holly Lynn Court in Holly Springs.

Cherokee County 911 received a call stating that the front porch of the home was on fire and that everyone, including the pets, were out of the residence.  Cherokee County firefighters could see the smoke coming from the area and arrived minutes later to report that the home was 40% involved with fire. The first floor of the split-level home was completely destroyed by the fire.

According to Lt. Fire Investigator, Cheri Collett, "There were two adults living in the home, but no one was injured.  Plus, two dogs were rescued from the house unharmed. The cause of the fire was due to discarded smoking materials."

No injuries were reported and both lanes of Holly Lynn Court were blocked until the operation was complete.
