Safety Town is coming back to Bascomb Elementary School this Summer! Students entering kindergarten in the fall can attend the program June 19-23. Students entering first grade can attend the program June 26-30. The camp runs from 9am-12pm each day. Registration is now open for each session.

Cherokee County Safety Town is hosted by Safe Kids Cherokee County and Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services. Students will learn all about how to stay safe with interactive lessons each day. Safe Kids partners such as US Army Corps of Engineers, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, Cherokee County School Police, Cherokee County School Bus Transportation, Cherokee County Animal Shelter and more will be there each day to teach anything from water safety to school bus safety. In addition, each day, the campers will create fun crafts, play games and ride on the miniature town to learn traffic safety rules, all while having FUN!

Safety Town also provides an opportunity for teens to earn community hours by registering as a counselor.

Registration is open on the Safe Kids Cherokee County website. www.safekidscherokeecounty.org For questions, please contact Lisa Grisham at [email protected] or 678-493-4343.

For older kids, we will be bringing safety messages to the Cherokee County Recreation and Parks Summer Camp Series each week. To register for the CCRPA camps, visit www.playcherokee.org We look forward to seeing everyone this Summer!
