Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES)
and Woodstock Fire & Rescue (WFR) responded to a residential structure fire on April 19, 2023, at 8:46 p.m. Units from CCFES stations 7, 24, and 8 along with WFR station 10 and 14 responded to the incident which occurred on Dials Drive in the southeast region of unincorporated Cherokee County. Initial calls reported that a grill and back deck were on fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find flames and smoke coming from the residence. Crews attacked the fire, which extended into the residence, and completed a search of the structure for victims. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no victims were found in the structure.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Dials Dr. was closed for approximately three hours while firefighters worked on the scene. Cherokee Sheriff’s Office aided with blocking the road and controlling traffic
