Safe Kids Cherokee County will be hosting a Car Seat Check and news conference in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the crash involving Firefighters Michele and Brooke Ice. This event holds particular significance as Michele and Brooke have courageously shared their story on a national platform. They recount how, just weeks prior to the accident, Brooke's car seat was inspected by certified technicians. Remarkably, due to this precaution, Brooke emerged unharmed from the crash. Some of the guests expected to speak at the event include the president of Safe Kids Worldwide, along with the dedicated technicians who conducted the car seat inspection and the EMT who promptly responded to the scene of the accident. Additionally, speakers from various organizations, including fire department personnel, a representative from the National Safety Council, and a delegate from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, will address the audience.
