Madison Hall, a recent graduate of the Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services Fire Explorer program, is poised to make significant strides in the field of fire protection. This fall, Madison will begin her studies at Eastern Kentucky University, where she will major in Fire Protection Administration with a minor in Arson & Explosion Investigation.
Over the summer, Madison gained invaluable experience working alongside Division Chief Cheri Collett in the area of fire investigations. Her dedication and expertise were further recognized when she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Georgia Fire Investigators Southeastern Training Conference in Savannah, GA. At this prestigious event, Madison was honored as an up-in-coming member in the industry by the Georgia Fire Investigators Association (GFIA).
Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services is proud of Madison’s achievements and looks forward to her continued success. We extend our best wishes as she embarks on her academic journey at EKU and anticipate her future contributions to the field as a career firefighter.
Fire Exploring, designed for high school students aged 14 to 20, is a cornerstone of the Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services Explorers Post, established in 2001. The program aims to develop essential skills, knowledge, and experience for future careers in fire and emergency services through participation in emergency calls and community support. Members of the Explorer Post attend weekly meetings at our Fire Training Complex and assist with various fire department events.
