Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES) honored 13 fire department members during a promotion ceremony held at the iconic Historic Canton Theatre in downtown Canton Thursday night. The ceremony, attended by family, friends, and fellow firefighters, celebrated the hard work and commitment of these individuals to the safety and well-being of our community.

The ceremony marked an important milestone for these individuals and the department as they continue to grow and serve in increasingly important roles.

Promoted to Sergeant:

  • Bonn Ellerbee
  • Matthew Perry
  • Evan Groet
  • Austin Wyatt

Promoted to Lieutenant:

  • Ethan Garner
  • Brady Reed

Promoted to Captain:

  • James Lussier
  • Nathanial Croft
  • Jon Villalobos
  • Phillip Shrout

Promoted to Battalion Chief:

  • Alexander Adams
  • Jason Williams
  • Nathan Baum

The ceremony was filled with pride as family members pinned badges and collar insignia on their loved ones, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their careers. CCFES Fire Chief Eddie Robinson, along with other department leaders, spoke about the importance of each individual’s dedication to the fire service and the significant role they play in protecting Cherokee County.

“We are incredibly proud of these men and women who have worked tirelessly to improve their skills and lead with courage, commitment. and integrity,” said Chief Robinson. “Today is a reflection of their commitment to not only serving our community but also mentoring and inspiring the next generation of firefighters.”

In addition to the promotions, the ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the department’s growth and its ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of fire and emergency services protection to Cherokee County. The department continues to invest in its personnel and equipment, ensuring they are prepared to respond to the evolving needs of the community.

Invocation was provided by Fire Chaplain Stephanie Robinson. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and fellowship after the ceremony.
