The event, attended by family, friends, and members of the department, recognized the hard work, commitment, and leadership of these individuals in serving the community.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the careers of these firefighters, as they advance to new roles within the department, continuing to serve and protect Cherokee County.

Promotions included:

Sergeants:

  • James Laughlin
  • Alissa Whetstone

  • Ron Davis
  • RC Vaughn

Captains:

  • Chad Wigington

Battalion Chiefs:

The ceremony was filled with emotion as family members had the honor of pinning badges and collar insignia on their loved ones, symbolizing the start of a new chapter in their careers. CCFES Fire Chief Eddie Robinson, alongside department leaders, spoke about the vital role each individual plays in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

"We are incredibly proud of these individuals who have shown exceptional dedication and leadership throughout their careers," said Chief Robinson. "Today is a testament to their commitment to not only serving our community but also inspiring and mentoring future generations of firefighters."

The ceremony included an invocation from Fire Chaplain Dana McPherson, followed by a reception where attendees enjoyed refreshments and fellowship.

A special thank you goes to the Historic Canton Theatre for graciously hosting the event in their iconic venue.
