The CCFES Paramedic Program is an in-house accredited training initiative designed to enhance the skills, knowledge, and abilities of firefighters from CCFES and surrounding fire departments in the pre-hospital medical field. The program, which spans over a year, covers critical areas such as anatomy and physiology, cardiology, medication familiarization, and advanced medical procedures.

The curriculum builds upon the foundational Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and equips students with lifesaving skills, including advanced airway management, EKG interpretation, and medication administration. Graduates then complete an exam administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), qualifying them for licensure as Paramedics in the State of Georgia.

“We’re proud to recognize the dedication and hard work of these individuals,” said Fire Chief Eddie Robinson. “Their commitment to advancing their training ensures that they are well-equipped to save lives and respond to emergencies with the highest level of expertise.”

Every CCFES ambulance is staffed with at least one paramedic per shift, and many fire engines are also staffed with paramedics, ensuring rapid and effective responses to medical emergencies.

The next CCFES Paramedic Program will begin in May.
