Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services is proud to announce the successful completion of Safety Town 2025, a week-long summer safety program designed to teach children critical safety skills through hands-on, engaging lessons — and supported by an outstanding team of community volunteers and partner agencies.
Throughout the week, campers participated in a wide range of activities covering essential topics:
Monday: Water Safety, Bike & Pedestrian Safety — with each child receiving a helmet fitting, thanks to Safe Kids Cherokee County.
Tuesday: Animal Safety, Tractor Safety, and Picture Day — students proudly wore their Safety Town T-shirts for class photos.
Wednesday: School Bus and Poison Safety — complete with realistic bus-loading scenarios and poison awareness education.
Thursday: Stranger Safety — a critical lesson taught through a carefully controlled simulation designed to foster real-world awareness.
Friday: Fire Safety Day & Graduation — a celebration of learning that included a special fire safety demonstration and a ceremony recognizing our Safety Town graduates.
“This program is about more than safety,” said a Cherokee County Fire Chief Eddie Robinson. “It’s about giving our children the confidence to navigate the world with knowledge, awareness, and responsibility. Safety Town helps build those foundations in a fun, meaningful way.”
Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services extends its deepest thanks to the volunteers, families, partner agencies, and community sponsors who helped make this year’s event a success. Your continued support empowers us to educate the next generation and keep Cherokee County families safe.
