Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES) responded to a residential structure fire late Sunday night on Red Gate Terrace.
Firefighters were dispatched at 10:42 p.m. following reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the basement of the home.
CCFES personnel acted swiftly, conducting a search to confirm no one was inside the residence and deploying multiple hose lines to attack the fire. The fire was brought under control after a coordinated and aggressive suppression effort.
No injuries were reported. However, the home sustained significant damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by CCFES.
