Thursday afternoon, Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a commercial structure fire at 271 Marietta Road in Canton around 3:15 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the roof throughout the building and active fire inside the structure. Crews quickly deployed hose lines to begin extinguishment while additional firefighters searched the building for occupants.
The fire was rapidly brought under control, and after a thorough search, no one was found inside. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Cherokee County Fire Investigators responded to the scene, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
