Just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire on Puckett Road near Waleska.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and visible flames coming from the home. Crews immediately initiated fire suppression efforts, deploying multiple hose lines while conducting primary search operations throughout several levels of the structure.
To support interior operations, firefighters also performed vertical ventilation from the roof, helping to improve visibility and control fire conditions inside the home. Through these coordinated and timely actions, crews were able to contain the fire and prevent further damage to the structure.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries occurred. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
