Just after 11:30 p.m. Monday night, Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a reported residential structure fire on Braddock Place, near Woodstock.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions coming from the roof of the home. Crews immediately deployed hose lines and initiated coordinated search operations across multiple floors of the structure. Firefighters operating on the roof conducted vertical ventilation in coordination with interior crews to help control the fire and improve visibility inside the home.
Thanks to the quick and coordinated actions of responding firefighters, the fire was successfully contained, preventing further damage to the residence.
The homeowner was able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported. Firefighters worked under challenging conditions, including a wind chill of 14 degrees.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
