At 1:00am, CCFES responded to a reported vehicle fire at a residence on Bennett Farms Trail. Within 3 minutes of the initial 911 call, dispatch upgraded the response to a full structure fire response. The first arriving units quickly located a vehicle on fire in a driveway that had extended into the structure. Because of the quick and aggressive tactics of the units on scene, water was applied to the fire within minutes and mitigated further spread of the fire into the residence.

Residents were able to safely exit the structure and no injuries were reported.

Station 20 made the initial attack on the fire using aggressive tactics that ultimately led to a quick knock down of the fire and the structure remaining intact. Subsequent arriving crews preformed searches of the residence to ensure no occupants or animals remained inside.

Our members train every day for incidents like this. The quick and decisive actions of all crews on scene are a testament to the training efforts of all members at CCFES. We want to remind everyone that working smoke alarms save lives. Check your smoke alarms regularly and replace them every 10 years.
