Early this morning around 0630, Engine 20 was dispatched and responded to a smoke odor investigation at a local residence in the area of Victoria Rd in Woodstock. Upon arrival, Engine 20 located a fire in a residence and immediately called for a full alarm. Crews from station 20 as well as subsequent arriving units worked quickly and efficiently to locate the fire and put it out. It is because of the quick actions of the first arriving units that the incident was brought under control so quickly.
No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. Fire investigators are on scene, and the cause is still under investigation.
This is the second structure fire in 24 hours in Cherokee County. CCFES Reminds residents to check smoke detectors regularly and have a home fire escape plan.
