Cherokee Fire Has Responded To a Third Structure Fire In 24 Hours

Update- After a thorough investigation, Cherokee County Fire Investigators have arrested Jackie Ingram on charges of Arson 1st Degree.

The Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services Fire Investigation Team extends its appreciation to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office for their assistance and collaboration throughout this investigation.

Shortly before 1 a.m., Cherokee E-911 received calls of a house on fire at 7532 Bells Ferry Road in unincorporated Cherokee County.

First responding units arrived on scene within minutes to find a residence fully involved. The homeowner was able to exit the structure without injury and confirmed to crews that there were no people inside.

No injuries to people were reported, however, unfortunately one dog was unable to exit the structure. Fire investigators are looking into the cause of this fire.

We say it all the time, and it is important. Check your smoke detectors regularly and have a home escape plan.
