Cherokee Fire responded to a residential structure fire earlier tonight in the area of Bells Ferry Road and Victoria Station.
Crews were called out to a fire in a kitchen around 6 p.m. First arriving units found smoke coming out of the front of the residence. Crews worked quickly and efficiently to bring the fire under control.
The homeowner was evaluated for smoke inhalation and was transported to a local area hospital.
One firefighter reported minor injuries from the incident and was also transported to a local area hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cherokee Fire Investigations Team.
