Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services proudly announces the retirement of Lieutenant Michael Caglioni, who has faithfully served the citizens of Cherokee County for more than two decades. Lt. Caglioni’s career has been marked by exceptional dedication, leadership, and an outstanding commitment to public safety.
A celebration honoring Lt. Caglioni took place this morning at Station 6 in the Clayton community, where he spent the past few years of his distinguished career. Family members, firefighters, and several retired personnel gathered to share fellowship, memorable stories, and heartfelt appreciation for his service.
During the event, Lt. Caglioni was presented with a commemorative helmet plaque recognizing his years of service and leadership. He also experienced one final ride aboard Engine 6, an emotional tribute to his impact on both the department and the community he served.
Fire Chief Kevin Lanier reflected on Lt. Caglioni’s legacy, stating “Lieutenant Caglioni has been a steady, reliable presence in our ranks for more than 20 years. His commitment to serving others, his mentorship of younger firefighters, and his dedication to the Cherokee County community have left a lasting, positive mark on this department. We are grateful for his service and wish him the very best in this next chapter.”
Lt. Caglioni’s retirement marks the conclusion of a remarkable career, but his influence will continue to shape Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services for years to come.
