Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will once again be hosting their annual Patriot Day Ceremony next Wednesday, September 11th, at the Public Safety Memorial located between the old county courthouse and the new Justice Center.
The event, which will begin at 8:30AM, will feature the national anthem and patriotic music by the Cherokee High School Band of Warriors and vocalist, Star Blanchard. Many county and city leaders will also take part in the event.
This year’s guest speaker will be Vic Reynolds, Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Reynolds was appointed the Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on February 18, 2019 by Governor Brian Kemp. In this position, he leads an agency of over 900 employees.
Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, and Cherokee County Sheriff, Frank Reynolds, will lay a wreath at the memorial to remember the nearly 3,000 men and women who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.
The public is cordially invited to the event.
